CONSTITUENCY DEVELOPMENT FUND (CDF) IMPLEMENTATION AND MANAGEMENT

There are a total number of 27+ CDF projects that KITWE CITY COUNCIL has overtaken. These project are being done in various parts of the City of Kitwe.  Recent development shows the projects that have been completed. 

 

CDF LOANS BENEFICIARIES

 
Copperbelt Provincial Minister Elisha Matambo recently handed over cheques to 2022 CDF loans beneficiaries under Nkana and Kamfinsa Constituencies respectively.
The Minister later proceeded on with monitoring of some of the CDF projects on the District in the company of District Commissioner Mr. Lawrence Mwanza, Kitwe Town Clerk Mr. Patrick Kambita, Kitwe City Council Officers and the Media.
Mr Matambo expressed the need for Kitwe City Council to ensure that regular monitering of projects is done and urged the beneficiaries of the funds to use it correctly and improve their livelihoods and that of others.

FINANCIAL LITERACY FOR CHIMWEMWE CDF BENEFICIARIES

 
Kitwe City Council held a financial literacy class for the 2022 CDF Loan Beneficiaries for Chimwemwe Constituency.
The event which was held at Buchi Hall was graced by Chimwemwe constituency lawmaker Mr. Allen Banda.
Speaking at the event Kitwe City Council District Planning Officer Elizabeth Funkuta said the training will help beneficiaries to put the money to good use and this will yield positive results for other beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, Honorable Allen Banda presented the cheque for K2,902.872 to the beneficiaries on behalf of the Government.
Mr. Banda said this is the first disbursement of loans and it must be put to good use in order for others to benefit.
And a beneficiary Faith Musonda expressed gratitude over the training stating that this will help them to save money and to pay back on time.

KCC HANDS OVER TWO 1X4 CLASSROOM BLOCKS IN WUSAKILE CONSTITUENCY

 
 
Kitwe City Council today handed over two 1×4 classroom blocks at Luangwa Combined school and Kalela Primary school in Wusakile Constituency.
The two classroom blocks were started by parents of the two schools and later completed through the 2022 Constituency Development Fund to the sum of K 339,554.93 and K506,051 respectively.
Kitwe City Council Director Development Planning Mr. Stan Mwanakayaya said the council will always work diligently to foster the implementation of CDF projects in the District.
He said the construction of the classroom blocks was done to the satisfaction of the council and the stakeholders.
 
 
The director said the council will always look to the community for prioritisation of projects of great importance through the WDCs as the residents know better the key areas in their communities that require urgent attention.
And Wusakile area Member of Parliament Honorable Pavyuma Kalobo stressed the need for stronger collaboration between the Government and key stakeholders in order for development to be realised.
The MP also stressed the need for prudent utilisation of resources so that more communities can benefit from the Constituency Development Fund.
He further added that there is need for more classrooms in order for the teacher pupil ratio in the schools to be normalised.
Mr. Pavyuma also thanked the parents from both schools for initiating the initial phase of the building projects and implored pupils to apply themselves in school.
Speaking at same function, Kitwe District Education Board Secretary Christopher Nyungila thanked the Constituency Development Fund Committee CDFC for hastening the completion of the classrooms.
Mr. Nyungila added that the increment in the CDF allocation is a boost to supporting the free education policy which has seen an increase in the enrolment rate.
He also applauded the contractors for the great workmanship employed in the construction of the classrooms.
And the community represented by the Parents Teachers Association thanked Government for increasing the CDF allocation which has made it possible for the completion of the two school classroom blocks.
